About nineclove and This Site
This site is the browser home of Minesweeper Worlds Online, a free Minesweeper game made by nineclove. Here is who we are, why the web version exists, how it is paid for, and how to reach us.
Who runs this site
minesweeperworlds.com is operated by nineclove, the studio that develops Minesweeper Worlds Online. We make free games for iPhone and Android and publish them under the nineclove name at nineclove.com.
We would rather say plainly who is behind the site than invent a team page. The guides and pages here are written by nineclove, based on what the game actually does.
What the game is, in short
Minesweeper Worlds Online is classic Minesweeper on a map with no edge. The map is divided into 8x8 areas, and an area is the unit you clear. Open a mine and only that area locks; the rest of your progress stays. You can play Solo in your own world, or Online in the Shared World, where every player of a season digs the same map together. Other players' moves show up live, and this is cooperative rather than versus.
Why there is a web version
Minesweeper Worlds Online started as a mobile game. The browser version runs the same game code and connects to the same Shared World, so someone on a laptop can dig next to someone on a phone.
We also wanted a place where people can try the game without installing anything. You open the page, play the tutorial, and decide whether it is for you. Read what Minesweeper Worlds Online is for the full picture, or see the mobile app page if you would rather play on your phone.
What else we make
Minesweeper Worlds Online is one of several free games from nineclove, all for iOS and Android:
- Slitherlink - Number Loop: connect dots into one closed loop, where each number says how many sides of its cell the loop uses.
- Star Battle - Logic Puzzle: place stars so every row, column and colored region holds the required count, and no two stars touch, even diagonally.
- Jigsaw Art Picture Puzzle, Nine Men's Morris, Cheat! (a bluffing card game) and Speed Card Game Duel.
If you like deduction puzzles, our page on games like Minesweeper compares them with the number-reading you do here.
How the site is paid for
The game is free on the web, iOS and Android. Advertising in the mobile apps helps pay for servers and development, and we would rather tell you that plainly than hide it.
- The mobile apps show ads. For example, when you need to restore a locked area, you can choose to watch a short ad.
- This website may show ads served by Google. Our privacy page explains the cookies involved and how to control them.
- The browser game itself does not currently show in-game ads. If that changes, we will update this page.
Ads do not decide what we write. A guide says what is true about Minesweeper or about the game, whether or not it helps anyone click on something.
How we write our guides
We hold the articles here to a few simple rules.
- We only describe features that exist in the game. If we are not sure something is current, we say it may vary instead of guessing.
- We do not promise rewards, rankings or outcomes that the game does not guarantee.
- Every board diagram has to follow logically from the numbers it shows, and its caption states which cells are mines or safe and why.
- We do not use invented statistics, reviews or player counts.
If you find a diagram that does not hold up, or a sentence that no longer matches the game, please tell us. We will fix the page and not leave the error in place.
How to contact us or report a problem
Email nineclove@nineclove.com. Including a few details helps us fix things faster:
- The device and browser (or app and OS version) you were using.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- A screenshot, if the problem is visual.
- Whether you were playing Solo or in the Shared World.
Common questions, such as saving progress and what happens when you hit a mine, are answered on the FAQ page.
Your data and privacy
The game creates an anonymous account so your progress can be saved. It does not ask for your name or email address. What the website and the game collect, which analytics and ad technologies are used, and the choices you have are described on our Privacy and Cookies page.
The full privacy policy and terms of service for all nineclove apps are published at nineclove.com.
